Poster on health sector policy responses and health workforce management during COVID-19 in Nepal
This poster – which you can read here – was presented at HSR2022 by Shophika Regmi of HERD International.
It is based on the study Understanding health system resilience to respond to COVID-19 in a federalised context: a case study of health workforce management at sub-national level in Nepal.
This poster demonstrates how local contextualization of policies and use of effective, targeted communications are key strategies for managing pandemics and other emergencies. Also, strong leadership and a commitment to ensuring physical and mental protection, training, balanced incentives and support for health workers is vital for staff retention, continued health service delivery and to build resilient health systems.
