Factors associated with a resilient maternal health system: Evidence from Kapilvastu, Nepal – a poster

Academic poster entitled Climate resilience in health systems- Evidence from selected local levels in NepalShophika Regmi from HERD International spoke at the 11th National Summit of Health and Population Scientists in Nepal in April 2025. She presented a poster from a study at the team’s second Learning Site in Kapilvastu district in Lumbini Province, Nepal.

The district reports the second highest maternal mortality rate in Nepal. 21.1% of maternal deaths in the country occur during delivery or postpartum outside health facilities. This study sought to identify the factors associated with this figure, recognising that a dual focus is needed: understanding barriers to maternal health service utilization and improving system-level resilience.
